The FTSE 250 company had warned in May that the dropping of the show, which is produced by and stars Kiefer Sutherland, by ABC could its revenue next year depending on the speed and size of a replacement deal.
ABC has contracted for 22 episodes of the second series, but eOne said on Thursday that the third season has been commissioned by Netflix as a 10 episode original series.
Series three of Designated Survivor will be aired globally in 2019.
ABC's dropping of the show came less than four months after eOne paid $160m cash and $49m in shares for the remaining 49% share of the series' producer Mark Gordon Company, for which Designated Survivor had been the recent main revenue driver.
