The purchase increases Amazon’s reach in the country as its cloud business Amazon Web Services continues to grow.
US firms often have difficulty gaining a foothold in China without entering into a partnership with a domestic company, with Amazon currently involved in such a relationship with Sinnet in Beijing.
"AWS has formed a strategic technology collaboration with NWCD, and NWCD operates and provides services from the AWS China Ningxia Region, in full compliance with Chinese regulations," Amazon said in a statement.
The Seattle-based giant has embarked on a series of new projects during recent years to expand beyond its online retail operations, with particular success coming from the likes of its cloud computing services and new tech devices.
