The AIM-traded firm said that under the contract, 1Spatial would provide a ‘Smart Work’ asset management system which would support Northern Gas Networks' back office business functions to help deliver efficiencies.
It said Northern Gas Networks distributes gas to 2.7 million homes and businesses, representing around 6.7 million individuals and covering an area of urban and rural land totaling 25,000square kilometres.
Through the use of technology, consultancy and working in collaboration with 1Spatial, the board said the project would achieve greater efficiency in work management and data capture across the Northern Gas Network business and supply chain.
Some of the key areas the solution would address and improve would include new gas connections, reactive and planned maintenance and emergency repair activities.
“We [are] delighted to be awarded this contract with Northern Gas Networks following a formal tender process,” said 1Spatial acting CEO Claire Milverton.
“The utility sector is a growing market for 1Spatial where our expertise and solutions allow us to provide innovative solutions to businesses both in the UK and internationally to drive efficiency.
“We are pleased Northern Gas Networks has elected to use our innovative solutions and look forward to building a strong working relationship with them going forward.”
