The AIM-listed company announced on Wednesday that its AMBC technology would be used in conjunction with Hangzhou Sunup environmental Science and Technology for the desulphurisation of flue-gas wastewater from the power station and was to be built into the existing facility with completion and commissioning scheduled for the end of 2017.
Simon Humphrey, Modern Water's chief executive, said "We have worked with Sunup for several years and we are confident that once the plant is up-and-running our technology will demonstrate the substantial improvements we can offer for the flue-gas desulphurisation sector, and also in other industries, thereby allowing us to make further sales to Sunup and target new markets."
Tan Bin, general manager of Sunup, added: "Modern Water's AMBC process has many technical and commercial advantages and we are therefore keen to incorporate the process as a key part of our flue-gas desulphurisation wastewater treatment plan, providing our customer with significant benefits in efficiency and cost reduction."
