Angling Direct told investors on Tuesday that revenue had risen "ahead of management's expectations" to £21.94m in the six months to 31 July – a 56% year-on-year increase.
The Norfolk-based company, which has locations in Rackheath, Norwich, Wroxham, Beccles and Colchester, said its strong store and e-commerce sales helped it make the splash.
Both store and online sales jumped 60% to £9.93m and £11.69m, respectively, thanks to its expanding retail footprint and an increased investment in its digital sales platform.
Angling Direct's chief executive, Darren Bailey, said, "The company's performance for the first half of the year is extremely positive"
"We have demonstrated that our strategy to operate both online and retail stores works coherently together in niche markets. We remain focused on our strategy of consolidation, as well as the rollout of new e-commerce platforms in Europe, in order to continue to deliver value and growth," added Bailey.
As of 1130 BST, Angling shares had shot up 14.31% to 95.45p.
