Africa-focused exploration outfit Altus Strategies has made a high-grade silver discovery at its Daro project in Northern Ethiopia.
Altus unearthed silver grades as high as 944 grams per tonne from rock chip sampling at the newly discovered Simret prospect at its 100% wholly-owned Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide project in the state of Tigray.
The AIM-listed explorer also revealed that geological mapping and trenching had revealed that gold and lead were also present at Simret - with grades including 3.55 grams of gold per tonne and 2.72% Pb.
Chief executive Steven Poulton, said: "We are delighted to announce the discovery of the Simret prospect. Our exploration has returned very high silver grades."
"Coincident with this field programme, we have engaged remote sensing consultancy Geosense (Netherlands) to complete a multi-spectral remote sensing analysis of the Daro licence using Sentinel satellite data."
As of 0840 GMT, Altus shares had slumped 9.59% to 3.30p.
